Exactly what I needed…a big gob of both AA & AAA rechargeable batteries with an 8-bay charging station unit!
I have used four Tenergy 9V batteries (the 250mAh blue ones) every week for the last two years and they keep on going strong so I know the brand is reliable and reputable as of this review date -lol.
These batteries work great and provide good strength where normal alkaline batteries are needed.
I like the charging station and the fact that you can charge just one or all of them at the same time. Most other chargers use two batteries at once to charge and will not work unless you have two in it.
There are individual charging lights at each battery slot.
Great price, nice package deal. I’m happy!
Hope this helps!
Here’s what I think… –
This is a decent battery for the price, but pleas understand how it works.
NOTE: THIS CHARGER WILL CHARGE FOR 10-HOURS WHETHER YOUR BATTERIES ARE CHARGED OR NOT!
The charger does not indicate if your batteries lack charge or have reached “full.” Basically, you put your AA or AAA or mixed combo of batteries in the charger and plug the charger in. Each battery slot has a red light that will come on that indicates that the charger is charging that the battery in that slot. Once the charger is on and charging any one slot, it will automatically turn off after 10 hours. So if your battery really needs 15 hours of charging, or if your battery only needs 20 minutes of charging, or if you accidentally put in regular non-rechargable batteries, this device will attempt to charge your batteries for 10 hours and then turn off. To turn back on you have to unplug and plug back in. Without a separate device, there is no way of telling if your batteries have reached full charge or if they even need a charge in the first place.

I love being able to have charged batteries on backup if they died. Only thing I don’t like is that you have to make sure to unplug the charger and plug it back in if you take out and use any batteries.

Saved hundred over a year I’m not having to buy batteries!

The unit is well built, with a long enough cord. Yes, it charges slow, but fast chargers are not always good for rechargeable batteries. This is the kind of unit that you use on a constant basis, not one of those chargers you decide to use last minute when you need a battery suddenly. I like that it hold many batteries and does both AA & AAA. The only thing I wish it had was a better LED indicator system to let you know the charging is done. There is no indication of a full charge with this unit. You just leave the batteries in there over night and assume they are good.
Bottom line: For the price, how can you complain? This is a really cheap offer.
Roughing It –
This seemed like a great price for an 8-port “smart” charger. However, it is NOT a smart charger. It is a charger with a fixed timer of 10 hours. Theoretically, charging slowly, as this one does, is better for battery life. But if you end up over-charging because you cannot tell if your batteries really need a charge or not, then you may shorten their life and thus negate the advantage of slow charging. This makes the great “value” of this product a real waste of cash. I can’t tell you which one to get, but get one that really tells you what the status of an individual battery charge is and also automatically cuts off the charging to its individual port when it is fully charged. It would be great if the information was consistently compared in a table with these specific features in mind. Several other problems. It did not come with a user manual, so I went to the manufacturer’s website to download one. The site has a “Download Manual Here” bullet point where the blue highlight is on the Download Manual and the Here is in plain black font. You would possibly logically think that the blue font indicates a hot link to the manual. Wrong! It is the plain black font “Here” that is the hot link to the manual. Also, the product has two numbers: TN145 and Model #01145. Tell me if I’m wrong, but maybe one model number would suffice and lead to less confusion. Then, reading the bullet points for this model, it clearly states under #4 that there is a green indicator light to tell you when charging is complete. NOT SO! There are NO GREEN LIGHTS on this model. This unit will charge for 10 hours no matter what the state of the batteries is. Overcharged or undercharged, they are getting 10 hours of juice. This is a penny-wise, pound foolish product, in my book.

Bought another one from someone else and never worked from the day it was delivered to me. This one works well and was a better value than the non-working one by far.
