A few years ago My orthopedic surgeon recommended that I could save a lot of by purchasing this “brick” of woven gauze sponges to clean and change the dressing on my incision once I got home from my hospital. since then I have found many other uses for them, like gently exfoliating my face and neck at the end of the day, and wiping off my dog’s paws after a walk outdoors.
NOTE: some reviewers have found their packages opened up inside while in transit, and they threw the package away because the gauze was no longer sterile. These gauzes are clearly labelled NON-STERILE on the wrapping and can still be used if not dirty. My most recent package arrived with the outer poly envelope intact, but the paper wrapping inside had opened up in transit. A few gauze sponges had spilled out but were still clean.
