The media could not be loaded.
I bought some of these years ago and loved them because they were very durable and smoother than other mylar type sheets. These newer ones are more like everyone else’s, loud and crinkly. HOWEVER… the size is great, and they still appear to be very durable and reusable (cheaper ones rip), but I do miss the softer sound and feel of the previous version. They do a great job reflecting body heat back and keeping you warm.

No son tan gruesos pero si se sienten más resistentes que los convencionales, aún falta probarlos en el campo.
Skeptical Believer –
Lightweight and compact. Good back up.

These are larger than most and tougher materials. The way they are packaged allows you to keep one in each vehicle or the entire set of 4 together for use as shelter or for multiple people.
Thinking of getting several more.

Never thought I’d like a aluminum foil looking blanket over my soft blankets but these are so cute. They are small packaging but covers a person. I ordered a 4 pack for my family of 4 emergency backpacks I put together.
Ordered another 4 pack for our cars. They are very convenient to pack in the glove box or a car bag for a winter emergency here in Maryland. Last year hundreds of drivers were stuck on the highway for 2 days in the snow pileup. These would be a lifesaver in such an unpredictable emergency. Price is a bonus!

OK, “Emergency Blanket”… good enough idea on it’s own, but I have found several ways to utilize this product beyond it’s intended use. Handy in many situations, and for my purposes, having several in my pack, or “go bag” has become an essential item. Together with a roll of waterproof duct tape and some plastic “packing tape” I have been able to to improve my outdoor experience….a couple of these blankets make a very good sun shade and “rain fly” for a lightweight backpack tent (just a handful of plastic beads wrapped into the the corners and along the length, and bingo!, an easy way to attach paracord tie downs and with some tape to unite 2 blankets at the ridgeline, you have a great tent fly…also, you have the choice of reflective side out, or in my case, the camoflage side out depending on which way you want to reflect heat…good seasonal option)…All at a fraction of the weight of a nylon tarp, and much more waterproof. Also, makes a good “ground tarp” for smaller tents, and in my experience, has proven tough enough to withstand puncture from needles, rocks, and sticks.
Additionally, these can be used to create sun and rain protection when wraped around the open frame of a truck bed rack (saved me on a very hot and sunny day here in the Southwest)…just wrap it around the frame and tape it to itself (by doing so, you create a “sleeve” which works better than static tape points which tend to stress and tear)..easy and effective, and no “sticky” to clean off your truck. Also, if you’re short on shade, wrapping this around your cooler (shinny side out) really helps to preserve the life of ice.
More? How about rigging a “Solar Oven” by digging a sunlight focus shaped pit and using the reflective side of this blanket as a liner….add a few rocks for heat retention and some clear plastic cling wrap and you can make a pancake mix and choclate bar baked treat!
Versitility?…came in handy to use as a “dry bag” for transporting a backpack across a river…just wrap, fold like you would the top of a “dry bag” and tape “seams” to help seal and keep the folds tight…works!
While “car camping” this blanket made a good “privacy screen” when hung off the rear cargo hatch when using a hanging bag shower … one other blanket used to keep the water from splashing into the vehicle…and they dry very quickly.
Originally, I was a bit “put off” by the price of this item and certainly the “cute” packaging adds to the cost…additionally, although this blaket is considerably larger and more durable than other “simular” products, I wanted a larger size to accomodate my “unsanctioned” uses of this blanket…Well, the seller got wind of my “gripe” and contacted me in a really friendly and engaged manner….actually interested in my feedback!!!…genuinely interested in providing someting to meet my needs, even suggesting a competetors product…in the end, turns out they also make a “Emergency Tent” that is of larger dimensions, and constructed of a “heavier weight” mylar material (can’t imagine that the “heavy” maylar would come at the expense of too much weight to include in my pack)…so, I’m going to order a few of those to have on hand…who knows what great uses I’ll find beyond their intended purpose….and I’ll be watching this company for future inovations…they are a “good bunch”, and have earned me as a loyal customer.
Happy camping to you all ! And always be prepared.

I didn’t realize that all four would come in a single zipper pouch (my bad for not reading more carefully), but these are the perfect stocking stuffers I was looking for – and they can fight over the zipper pouch later, lol. I can now be confident that my family won’t die in the woods. Or at least they won’t be as cold if they do. 😉

I have not yet died in the woods.

Me gustó el tamaño, ademas el estuche en donde vienen esta precioso y muy práctico. Solo que ya no la pude doblar igual y me queda la duda si son desechables.

These “Don’t die in the woods” emergency blankets are huge in comparison to some others I’ve seen. They easily pack back into the little pouch and are small enough to carry everywhere. I keep one in each vehicle and in my go bag.

I love having these in my car as a cat lady! They are good to put inside cat shelters for temporary or partial heat.
