I’ve been a huge fan of MTM since I got their tactical range box. The fact they’re made in the US and offer a wide variety of storage and organizational options are what having me coming back. While their offerings being priced very competitively is just icing on the cake. So now for the review of the 4-Can Ammo Crate. For several years I’ve gone back and forth on trying to find a way to store and transport ammo. Depending on what your purpose is (range trip, home storage, etc) your needs will vary. These are modular in that you can fit all 4 30cal cans inside the crate or stack them on top of each other securely. For organizing different calibers you can do the super casual method (100 mile tape or painter’s tape + sharpie). Or go online and buy the professionally made pre-printed ammo can stickers (black text and OD background). Either one does the job and makes it easy to distinguish what’s what.I like these containers and carrying crate so much I plan on ordering extra ones to organize my small loose items whether it’s flashlights, batteries, knives, small pouches, etc. There is a weight limit so keep that in mind not to throw super heavy weights or anything that will put excess stress on the containers. But for the construction, features and price, these can’t be beat!

As others have written, perfect size to carry multiple calibers to the range. I keep mine next to my reloading bench, some for components, and some for finished rounds. Once loaded the four containers are stable in the base.

Ordered these and was a little worried about quality. But that quickly changed on opening the box. The Cans are perfect for quick grab and go and the crate they fit into is also just conveniently sized. All though filling them maybe be hard atm i have no regrets about this purchase.

Overall, really appreciate the thoughtfulness that went into this product. Each box can hold a solid 500 rounds. Could be more if the container didn’t taper as much (thus the 4 stars) and if the seal were secured better (added some glue myself). The locking tab is solid. The handle is solid when the container is full of ammo, though I recommend keeping the containers in the crate to prolong the life of the handles because they are plastic after all. Don’t get me wrong, you’re getting a great PLASTIC product for a very reasonable price. So don’t go slamming it because you’re expecting it to be as solid as a metal case. You are getting what you pay for; affordable quality.I use some containers for ammo and some for mags or accessories and you’ll be amazed how many mags each would hold. I put my entire CMMG .22lr bravo kit (bolt and 3 mags), two 30-round mags, and my folding Mag Feeder (as long and thick as two mags) in one container. I can grab the entire crate or just two containers and be ready to go ammo and mag wise. Overall, I really like it and will likely buy another set just for my pistol ammo and parts.

I love these, especially at Optics Planet prices. PROS: 4 ammo boxes per crate (included). Easy lift and carry crate handles. Crate stack nicely. Watertight seals on ammo boxes. CONS: I wish the plastic used was a bit heavier duty grade. There is nothing wrong with these now, but my experience tells me that this grade of plastic will age and then crack and break after a few years of use, especially with UV exposure. Haven’t put ammo weight in them yet, but that’s when my fears may come true after some use/time. I’m still recommending them to you, as I have been calling a few friends that I know have scattered ammo stores awaiting this kind of organization. GET SEVERAL!

Just got it. I really like the size and the way it all fits together as a unit. Much easier to move around when necessary compared to a single ammo can I was using before. I can store about 540 rounds of XM193 in the 30 round stripper clip boxes for each of the 4 ammo cans. About 16 lbs each can. I’m ordering another one now, they are stackable. It took a long time to get it because the manufacturer just starting shipping them out. It was worth the wait.
