Great for emergency preparedness.

I live outside Asheville, NC and relied on this for two weeks to filter creek water. Incredibly grateful to have had this. Latch points made it easy to strap to the ATV to check in on neighbors.

The filter is the critical item of the product. Water filters should come in a separate sealed foil pouch. It prevents it from drying out. The jerry can arrived with the filter installed in it and ready for use. The filter only has a 3 year storage life before it dries out and rendered useless. If you are buying it for emergency supply, where the jerrycan will be in storage till it is needed. You must get a spare filter cartridge that comes in a sealed foil pouch. Many US vendors sell the water filter that are not in sealed foil pouch. Vendors figure the customer will use the jerrycan within reasonable timeframe, not store it as an emergency item. A filter in a sealed foil pouch is available but it must be ordered from Lifesaver in Britain. It is worth it because a filter sealed in a foil pouch has shelf life of 10 years. Something to consider for anyone who wants this item for emergency prepping.

I have well water with a ton of sulfer. The water is yellow straight out of the faucet. This Lifesaver Jerrycan makes the water as clear as clear gets and it tastes fantastic. In one year it will pay for itself.

Can’t beat the savings from purchasing bottled water. Been using mine since May 2017 with no issues. UPDATE 18 Feb 20: Still using it. All drinking and cooking water goes through the filter. Great purchase! UPDATE 10 Apr 20: All good things must come to an end. Survived continuous home use. The pressure took its toll on the Jerrycan and opened a whole that could not be repaired. In closing: This is a great piece of equipment to have. It pays for itself in short time and saves you a lot of headaches during emergencies. I guess it’s time to use the one I have in storage and place an order for another. Definitely 5 stars.

Used for when we went camping. On our third trip, the nozzle sprung off like a firecracker. Something unfixable broke and we have been unable to get product support. Pretty disappointing.

It is expensive but works flawlessly and you cant put a price on safe clean water.

It does as advertised on it’s website. I used this exclusively for all my water needs (about 2-3gal / day) for a 10K mile 2month overlanding trip across the western US. I mainly drew water from rivers and the occasional lake, mainly in slow moving water, and the occasional standing water. The flow rate is a bit low, and you need to pump it as it filters the water, but I would could get about 15gal over 45min, storing the fresh water in larger containers, and that was great for my experience. It has I think 20,000 liter filter, which when you think about what you’re getting, is pretty amazing IMO. I had zero adverse affects from drinking exclusively from this filter for 2months, and the hardware worked great (pump, spigot, etc). I think 5stars is warranted given that it does exactly what it advertises.
