This is a great alternative to the aerosol chemical bug spray, got this pack for a wedding, but this is perfect for your purse or car.
Cynthia Davis –
The best mosquito spray I have ever used.
Kathie Jermstad –
I live the smell, the small size and its effectiveness. It’s a little hard to spray on however.
Susan E Hallman –
I like that it came in a three-pack. I was able to give one each to my daughters to try as well.
Junebug –
This has a horrible smell. My opinion.
Edward Arrendell –
I love this plant based and deer free product. It’s the perfect size. I like the 3 package and keep one in my bag, one at the back door to my garden and one in the car. Yes, mosquitoes love me…at least they used to.

I get “skeeter syndrome” whenever I get a mosquito bite, which means the bites turn bright red and painful, swell up, and leave big quarter-sized dark marks on my skin for weeks afterwards. Needless to say, I try to avoid getting bitten as much as I can.
I don’t like the sticky feeling of Deet, and prefer not to use Deet or Picaridin especially when near water if I can because they both may be toxic to fish, salamanders, and other wildlife. Other than those two, the EPA recommends 30% oil of lemon eucalyptus for mosquitos so I figured I’d give this a go. I like the simple ingredients list, just 30% oil plus water and ethanol.
When spritzed, it does have a very strong lemony-herbal smell from the oil, so I’d only spray it outside. The smell does linger too, but it’s not the worst scent in the world and better than artificial fragrance. Once on, it feels a little oily but it wasn’t too uncomfortable and I definitely prefer this over the stickiness of Deet spray.
I used it for the first time tubing down a river near the woods and then in a field at night afterwards and didn’t get a bite! I reapplied once after swimming and once again a few hours later at dusk.
So far so good – I’d prefer it to be less oily and unscented, so unscented picaridin gets points there, but that’s the tradeoff for using something that’s less likely to harm wildlife. I’d definitely keep using this.

Ah, Murphy’s Naturals Lemon Eucalyptus Oil Insect Repellent Spray – the unsung hero of backyard barbeques, camping trips, and those evenings when the great outdoors seem more like a battleground against nature’s tiniest vampires. This isn’t just any insect repellent; it’s like a secret spell in a bottle, warding off mosquitoes with the zesty aroma of lemon and eucalyptus rather than the usual chemical warfare.
The first thing you’ll notice is the scent. It’s like walking through a lemon grove with a hint of eucalyptus – refreshing, uplifting, and decidedly non-industrial. The mosquitoes, however, seem to disagree. To them, it’s as repelling as last year’s pop songs at a teenager’s party. The effectiveness? Pretty solid. While it might not create an impenetrable force field against every single mosquito, it does a commendable job of keeping most at bay, allowing you to enjoy your alfresco dining without turning into an all-you-can-eat buffet.
But it’s not just about keeping bugs off your skin. This spray is kind to the environment too. It’s DEET-free, which means you’re not spraying the equivalent of chemical waste on yourself. It’s like giving Mother Nature a high five. And the bottle? Compact enough to throw in your bag, because you never know when you’ll need to launch a counter-attack against insect invaders.
However, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. The duration could use a boost. Reapplication is necessary to maintain your invisible shield, especially if you’re sweating like you’ve just run a marathon in the Sahara.
TL;DR: Murphy’s Naturals is your aromatic armor against mosquitoes, blending eco-friendliness with effectiveness. It might need a few reapplications, but it’s a small price to pay for smelling like a lemony forest rather than a chemical lab.
