Great book for those vegetable gardeners.

My son decided to have a garden for the first time ever. He has it tilled but didn’t know exactly what he should plant when Etc… all the things that are pertinent. It is his 39th birthday today and I was thinking the farmers almanac may be helpful but when this came up in my search and I watched the video reviews I knew this is what he needed. It shows what to plant, when to plant , when to harvest, how deep, how far apart, and what to plant next to what. All in pretty photos. There is a section to write any info you may need to know all handy in one book. I gave it to him last night and he was over the moon. He loves books and acquiring new skills and he said it was just what he needed and didn’t know it. He texted me today and said he loved it so much, this gift choice was very cool, thoughtful and creative and much needed.

This book has so much information and all in an easy way to follow to companion plants. This has to be listed as the very best for any gardener, whether old time farmer Jones or the newest ones. Cannot stress how valuable this book has been to use.

There is so much great information in this book. It covers how to plant, water, when to pick, and how to store. Love this book as a newer gardener.
Cindy –
A fantastic guide for gardening beginners as it tells you everything you need to know including soil prep, planting timetables for your zone, when to fertilize, companion planting, pest control, and recommendations for which varieties to plant. Also has pages to record and chart your work.

This book is comfortable to hold with a flexible cover. The information is great and I can’t think of anything I would change about it. There are several charts left blank for you to fill out, which includes the following: Soil Tests (Date-Results and Amendments), My Soil’s pH (Date-Test Results/Goal-Amendments), My Compost Planner (Date-Ingredients Added, Water Added, Duration Turned), My Favorite Veggies (Year Planted/Variety, Source, Harvest Quality), My Seed Starting Record (Date Planted, Seed/Variety, Medium, Days Until Transplant), My plant Companions (Crop, Companion/s, Effect (If Notable), and seven other charts. There are lots and lots of photos, information on pest control, a good index, and much more. The more I look this book over, the better I like it. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in learning more about plants and/or gardening.

So much information in this book and it’s so clear and detailed super easy to understand I’m definitely going to be getting a few of their other books because this is such a useful book I’m so glad I decided to purchase it!
It’s got everything you need and then some I’ll be getting this for both my mother who’s a veteran gardener and my mother inlaw who’s brand new to gardening this year

This book discussed numerous vegetables and the must knows! I’m a beginner at gardening and have referenced this multiple times. Tells you the soil PH, partner planting, temperature, etc. The size of the book is great as I don’t like small books. Easy large readable print.

It truly is a handbook and covers most every vegetable you would grow in your garden. Addresses composts and provides lots of information. I chose it due to the fact it was an Old Farmers Almanac and did not disappoint. Color photos and lots of descriptions. Also places to write in notes you learned from your garden.

Was a gift for my daughter’s birthday she has an allotment and says she loves it

The book is nicely bound and has great color photos. However, there are a lot of pages that act as a journal – “My seed-starting record” and “My plant companions,” etc. I already have a gardening journal, and if I were to use the book for my records I would need a new one every year. I appreciate the info, but I have found a few other books to be more helpful.

I 100% love this book, it helped me to grow a garden like I’m actually good at it. I over-planted my seeds thinking I’d have lots die, but I didn’t because this books instructions were so good…I read it often, it gives recommendations based on where you live, and what to do with the vegetable plants in the beginning, middle, and end. 100% recommend getting this book for all who want to start a garden, or who want to perfect what they already have.

I repeat, excellent service and totally reliable.
