I have been raising chickens for many years and have given my great neighbor eggs. She has ask me about them a lot and decided to get some peeps to raise her self. After she got the chickens she would ask me questions about raising them. One day I saw this book and decided to get this for my neighbor. The book is great and even though I have raised chickens for years I found some very interesting things in this great book that I didn’t even know. Soooo even if you have been raising chickens for years, you must get this book. It will surprise you as to how much you can learn about chickens so you can do the best for them.
Stop right now and order this book, you will not be disappointed.

I just became a first-time chicken owner with the acquisition of 4 little chicks, ranging from 3-6 days old, and this book has been immensely helpful and comprehensive for alleviating any anxiety about their care. Three weeks in, I’ve already consulted it numerous times, as the chicks grow and develop. It’s easy to read and follow, with an excellent contents page and index for seeking specific information. I’m sure it will become a well-thumbed Bible over years to come!

I had one of the first editions of this book years ago when it was first published. I loved it then for raising chickens, so when I heard that it had been updated and released again I had to get it. You can’t always trust internet sources for sound advice on raising any plant or animal, a good, solid reference book is always a better choice. This one is so thorough. It’s not a book you just sit down and read (for most people). Great advice, easy to understand.

The book covered all aspects of raising chickens and their care. It explains when to move from brooder and when to change the type of feed.

This is the most informative book I’ve ever purchased. This book includes everything you need to know and understand about raising chickens. I’m new to the idea of raising chickens and wanted to be more knowledgeable. This book has it all from breeds to shelter, medical, guidance, and helpful ways to understand literally everything you need to know and learn. Needless to say after reading this very informative book I soon will be raising my own .

Bought for an 81 year old friend who has never raised chickens I read through it quickly before giving to him and enjoyed the “chicken history” and it seemed to be well done and useful. My friend has been reading it and tells me things that he learned so I think he is enjoying it. I am ordering him some chickens in a couple weeks so we will see how well he learned things.
