This is so great. Easy to assemble and break down, easy to get a fire going, and puts out heat. I got the bigger one (or taller), and that’s the way to go. You have to feed the fire frequently, but that’s because you are putting in small pieces of wood. I did mostly sticks the size of my thumb or smaller. I might prep some larger pieces of wood for longer burn times in the backyard. The fact that it burns quickly is also nice when it’s time to stop. I love this thing.
Works like the Solostove, but smaller. Fits in the included mesh bag for storage or transportation. Bring a plastic bag to put that in if you don’t want ashes or soot getting in your car.
The bottom does get hot so make sure you put it on something safe.
Gets a good secondary burn/combustion quickly.

I am an avid survivalist, hiker, camper, and wilderness backpacker. I was looking for a cost-effective, environmentally-friendly solution to use for when my JetBoil or any other fuel-based product would fail on me in the wilderness. And that product was the Solo Stove. It was my go-to, wood-burning stove for over 6 years, and when I saw this Tomshoo stove available for a MUCH CHEAPER price, I was intrigued to see how this copycat would perform.
In the same concept that Solo Stove pioneered, this product burns wood pieces very well and fast. The fire lasts surprisingly long, and not many ashes are left behind. It does get dirty, but the convenient carry pouch makes this a non-issue.
Like the Solo Stove, I wish there was a way to control the temperature of the fire for cooking non-liquid items (such as frying or baking in the wilderness.)
The hole at the top allows you to conveniently add additional fuel without having to take off the pot/pan. It’s light-weight and a must-have for your survival bug-out pack. As a bonus, it also acts as a small firepit with which you can warm yourself up with.
In short, this product actually copies the Solo Stove quite well, but there are several differences:
1. The quality of the material is not as good/heavy-duty as that of the Solo Stove
2. Tomshoo’s stove packs much smaller due to a more modular design
3. The modular design allows the stove to be used in a wider variety of ways than the Solo Stove: as a wood burner (like the Solo Stove), as a BBQ grill (with built-in drip catcher), and as a stove with alcohol as the fuel source
4. A small grill is included and fits into the stove
From a value perspective, this copycat outdoes the Solo Stove in many, many ways and at a much lower price point. It should be part of anyone’s bug-out emergency bag. I highly recommend it.

Lo utilicé para cocinar sopa, calentar café, con ramas delgadas sin necesidad de leños grandes, enciende fácil, se mantiene y calienta los alimentos y la zona cercana, hay que estarlo alimentando constantemente por usar trozos pequeños deadera-es parte de la diversión. También funcionó muy bien con el cohol sólido aunque mejor con la lata que en el platito. Buena compra!

This is a great little wood burner. This is especially good in that it collapses down so small, and fits inside small cook pots. It’s also great for a small limited fuel supply. One 3-4″ x 6″ split log will be enough fuel to say make coffee and eggs and bacon.
I found that a 3x 4″ x6″ piece was ideal. I usually cut the 6″ length in half. And on 3ish diameter” logs split only in half worked best and burned longest. Little tinder underneath the wood and underneath the base where I lit it. Takes off every time.
The dish I use underneath as an ash catcher. It burned hot and thoroughly, so there is VERY little left,
My one and only complaint. The cross bar cooking slats. For narrower cooking cups or utensil. They are finicky and easily fall off.
I also wish there was a way to attach something as a small heat diffuser for warmth. This is small enough and contained well enough that I would bring it into the inside of a tarp shelter. I wouldn’t probably a tent because of ventilation, but a tarp with dirt floor would be OK. I’ll be trying that soon.

For starters this stove does exactly what it claims to, I have no flaws to mention here.
Compact+Lightweight –
Me and one of my good friends have a sort of building project out in the woods near our house in the woods. I needed something light and compact that I could carry with me in my pack. Its so compact it fits in the mesh water bottle pouches on the side of my bag which allows me to use the actual inside of the pack for other things. Its very light so that’s great for carrying in and out of the woods any distance that I need to, by hand or in my bag.
Cooking Itself –
This thing is pretty great for cooking. I find a nice flat surface to set the stove up, which only takes about 20 or 30 seconds to do. When starting up it can produce a lot of smoke depending on how good you are at starting the fire and what type of wood you use etc. But once its truly going yes its 100% smokeless. You get a useful burn very fast in this stove, and trust me it will heat up anything you put on it. So far I’ve made 3 water boiling meals, 3 frying meals and 1 stir fry meal. It cooked everything fine.
Fuel Burn&Consumtion-
There are a few things to note about how well and how fast it goes through wood. It is crazy efficient, you can look down and see the gasification take place. all the smoke from your fuel gets pulled down, mixed with fresh air and re-ignited and burned again, getting far more heat and efficiency out of any wood you use when compared to a campfire or non-gasifying wood stove. Sadly at the same time, it can go through your fuel kind of quickly. I would say have plenty of extra fuel nearby to continue to feed the stove and you’ll be fine. You just have to remember that its still getting almost everything out of your fuel it possibly can. You get very good efficiency out of your fuel, but not much burn time with it. Keep extra fuel nearby and you wont have any issues.
