bought this for my LaRue tactical predatOBR 5.56… the RMR allows you to shoot open eyed and just place the dot on the target while still seeing the full field of play.the red horseshoe and optics are clear and precise out to 350 yds (I have not had the opportunity to test it at longer distances but imagine it would be reliable on a 5.56 out to about 500 yds with proper ammo) I would normally go to at least a 7.62 or .300 Win around the 350 yrd mark for knock down power and less bullet drop. The scope is rugged and I see why they choose it for its durability… which is something that is needed when hunting in the backwoods

The ta11 offers the most flexibility of the Acogs offering great eye relief and maintaining a good fov. The Sdo goes beyond this with a more refined reticle offering more reference points for holds and wind. Having owned Amber, red, and green acogs the red is definitely the one my eye is most drawn to and the circle dot reticle is my favorite. The larue mount is a nice addition as well. The dual illum rmr is pretty underwelming, in bright sun it blooms and in low light it is dim. Looking from dark to light or using in conjunction with a weapon light washes out the reticle completely. The kill flash also causes a noticeable decrease in light transmission.Overall I think the msrp is obcene for an acog considering the pricing of similar models but it is cool that it is in use by the usmc and offers some unique features.I think this optic is slightly better than a regular ta11 horseshoe dot for some of the above reasons but think most people would do better to buy that and a battery rmr due to the staggering price difference and noteable issues concerning the dual illum rmr unless they are building a clone or are just in love with the reticle that the Sdo offers. I had been creeping on this optic for over a year when a deal came by that I couldn’t pass up so I bought and am quite happy overall with my purchase

Outstanding product. I’m using it to demonstrate an M249 SAW to law enforcement. I have used other brands, but none worked as well as the ACOG. One of the first comments I get from LE is about the optic

I have been looking at a scope & red dot combo for a long time for my M4 carbine. My choices were the Trijicon ACOG Scope/Red Dot RMR, Holosun Scope/Red Dot and Ecotech Scope/Red Dot. After watching a lot of reviews and reading their pros/cons, I decided to buy this Trijicon ACOG 3.5×35 Scope.OMG, I took my Virginia DCJS armed security officer patrol rifle qualification using this ACOG scope, it was like point and shoot! lol Once the scope is zeroed, all I needed to do was placing the crosshair on the target, clicked the trigger and it hit it where I wanted to hit. It made placing a head shot on the target very easy! The eye relief of this scope if phenomenal! I don’t have to put my eyes so close to the scope! I can acquire target very fast and shoot it accurately! I should have bought this a long time ago, it would have made my life a lot easier! I can shoot with both eyes open.I am a SWAT counter terrorism operator, so the RMR red dot attachment is awesome for a CQB when we have to deal with close quarter targets. The scope may look big but it is very light!Thank you OpticPlanet for shipping this scope fast and working the issue out with the USP 2 days shipping. I was able to use it for my test and I passed my armed security officer DCJS patrol rifle qualification test at 100%! I love the fact that the ACOG scope/RMR red dot came with carrying case with molly attachment!

I purchased this to finish off an M27 clone I have been working on. I was on the fence about whether I needed to spend the extra money on the RMR but once I had it in my hands I knew I made the right choice. I have an older TA01NSN and a TA31RCO-M4 that have been rock solid. I am confident this will be just as good if not a better optic.
