Lovely jar. Nice size for my sourdough starter. It’s very pretty as well!
Erin Wilson –
I’m obsessed with wreck jars and this did not disappoint. It’s perfect for sourdough starter or really storing anything. Love the silicone lid as well. I just ordered a second!
RPG –
Great jar! Perfect for sourdough starter! Seals air tight and the gasket is well made. Highly recommended.

A bit smaller than I expected (metric) but otherwise perfect. Not broken. Glass lid, seal ring, and 2 metal clips to hold it together. No plastic lid or wood lids, or even fabric one. Can’t wait to try it out now that I have items that weren’t included. After Christmas. Good price, I think. A sticker on the bottom had $ 7.00 on it. It is a German import. Weck jar.

I use this jar for my sourdough starter and it works very well. The wide mouth design makes it easy to stir my starter and feed it when necessary. The seal helps to keep anything out of it. Nice thick glass and amazing quality

Gran tamaño, resistente, práctico y excelente para alimentar la masa madre de arranque. Me encanta.

Perfect vessel for sourdough starter. I prefer the glass lid over the wooden one.
College Jane –
This is a perfect jar for my sourdough starter. It has two lids (one glass one plastic). It is nice and solid and easy to clean. My starter loves it.

If you like gadgets, you’re going to love this jar! It’s pretty, and is so easy to use for my sourdough starter! Highly recommend!

I looked for a while for a good jar to keep my sourdough starter in and this one fit the bill perfectly. It’s large enough to give the starter room to grow after feeding, but it’s not so big that it’s hard to find a place for in the fridge. Sturdy, thick glass and the wide mouth makes it easy to clean. The clamps are nice for using when I have the starter in the fridge and worry about it tipping over from one of my kids moving it around. It really is perfect! The only real downside is the price. When I bought it was basically $20 for one jar, but I needed it fast and so I just went for it. A quick google search shows that you can get it for $7 at other places, although probably with longer shipping times. Heck, you can even order a set of six jars directly from Weck for $26. So now I feel a little foolish for spending as much as I did, but again I needed it to arrive quickly so it all worked out. Anyway, pick your best option, I’m not here to tell you how to spend your money, but I took a star off for the dumb price.

This is a perfect jar for sourdough, I have ordered more. Super easy to clean and they have a great look on the counter.

I bought this jar to store my dry sourdough starter for a while. It’s a perfect jar for air-tight needs. It’s a good size when I need to get my starter back up and running again, too. If you want sturdy, glass jars for food storage, Weck should be your 1st choice.

Well made and large neck make it easy to add flour and water and remove starter to make bread
